Weddings at Highlands
We are honored to celebrate with couples as they begin their life together.
A wedding is one of life’s most joyful and sacred moments. In the Christian tradition, marriage is a service of worship, celebrating God’s presence and blessing as two people enter into the covenant of marriage and begin building a life together.
In the excitement of planning a wedding, many questions naturally arise. The guidelines below are provided to help with planning and to clarify what is appropriate for weddings at HUMC. In addition to these written guidelines, a member of the Altar Guild is available to answer questions and offer assistance along the way.
Couples wishing to be married at HUMC must submit a Wedding Application Form at least six months prior to the desired wedding date. A completed application must be on file with the church office before a wedding can be considered.
Please note that submitting an application does not automatically confirm your wedding date. Each request is reviewed by the minister, and the date must be officially confirmed in writing by both the minister and the church office manager.
Wedding ceremonies are not scheduled during Holy Week or certain church holidays.
It is the couple’s responsibility to ensure that all members of the wedding party are aware of and follow HUMC’s Wedding Guidelines (above).

Wedding fees vary depending on whether the couple are members or non-members of HUMC. A refundable damage deposit is required to reserve and confirm your wedding date, with remaining applicable fees due 30 days prior to the ceremony. Additional costs may apply depending on the use of church facilities and required personnel.
